Batchelder & Collins Inc.

Batchelder & Collins is a 5th generation family-owned distributor of masonry materials. We maintain one of the largest inventories in Hampton Roads of concrete pavers, stone veneer, and of course bricks. We have been headquartered in Norfolk since we first opened our doors in 1868. Our founder, William H. Collins, was a Union Captain who was stationed near Norfolk during the Civil War. After the war Captain Collins decided to move to Norfolk and open a building materials company with a local businessman, BM Batchelder. Originally, we sold everything from coal to lumber before focusing on brick during the 1st half of the 1900’s.
Our materials have been used on all sorts of projects over the years. We supplied brick to Harbor Park, MacArthur Mall, ODU, Norfolk State, William and Mary, Christopher Newport, just to name a few. Of course, we have supplied all sorts of residential home builders over the years. Some of our customers have been dealing with us for multiple generations.
Today we have the Norfolk location on Granby Street plus a location in Williamsburg. Both locations are open to the public and have showrooms with sales associates that are ready to help you select the materials for your next project. The Norfolk location also has a large outdoor display that showcases many of our outdoor living products. We distribute brick, architectural and foundation block, stone veneer both natural and manufactured, concrete pavers, travertine, and natural stone paving products. We also stock a large selection of masonry accessories including masonry fireplace parts, foundation vents, and crawl space doors.
